The project comprises the erection and completion of a Day Centre Resource Hub consisting of a cafe/restaurant, a kitchen, reception and office, lounge, WC’s and stores at ground floor level with a multi-purpose room, pottery room, IT/internet room, assisted bathroom,treatment room, hairdressing room, laundry, staffroom and WC’s at second floor level. The accommodation also provides 13 1-bedroom dwellings on part of the first floor and on the second and third floors.
The building replaces an existing care home which is to be demolished.
The project has been through an extended planning process with the local conservation officer paying particular
attention to the detailed design. The result is an exceptionally high quality building using expensive materials internally and externally.
The flats will achieve CfSH level 4 with communal heating provided through the use of an Exhaust Air heat Pump and
The project is still subject to planning delays with an anticipated start date in July 2015.
