Consisting a total of ten dwellings, eight flats and two houses, the development is to be built on the site previously known as Carlyle House. The development consists of 2no. one bedroomed and 6no. two bedroomed dwellings with one block of eight flats and 2no. three bedroomed houses. The narrow entrance to the development opens into a clearly defined, compact amenity space at the rear.
The development will deliver a number of large, affordable units built to high space standards and architectural quality, enhancing the existing streets cape. The dwellings are affordable accommodation in the form of general needs rented units to meet the needs of the immediate area.
Carlyle House was the second part of a two part contract with Ealing Council, Hoylake Road being the first. Carlyle was completed completed in June 2014 and achieved Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4.
As with Hoylake Road SDB adopted a fabric first approach achieving the code purely through the fabric with triple glazed windows, low wall, floor and roof u values and close attention to thermal bridging.
