16 The Vale

This is the fourth project for Shepherds Bush Housing Association. The semi-detached property originally constructed by Brown Brothers Engineering in 1934, manufacturer of aircraft parts, and the building served as their west London storage and distribution centre. The design and detailing of the building is relatively simple and one can assume was meant to express the utilitarian nature of the building as an industrial warehouse. The proposals explore the development potential of the existing building. A viable mixed-use scheme has been identified, which introduces three additional floors to the existing building.
