Welcome to our December newsletter in 2016. It has been a busy time since the last issue and we have had some interesting projects to complete. Projects Completed in 2016 This scheme is for Origin Housing and comprises of 21 residential flats and 1 commercial space; with 2 units being wheelchair accessible. The commercial space, which is integral to this development, is located on the ground floor, with its main entrance on Park Parade. The commercial unit has its own gas, water and electric services. We are happy to announce that fibre optic installation at our offices. Everything is up and running, however this couldn’t happen without all team members and Networkfish’s effort. This project has been funded via the IT Grant Scheme by the Government. Within this scheme we have been able to replace the quite old main infrastructure running into the office and a new router as well.

SDB is pleased to announce the completion of Willows Yard Project for Origin Housing. This project consists of the construction of a five storey block of 21 flats all for affordable rent. The block consists of a four storey concrete frame with Metsec infill and brick cladding and a lightweight top storey with aluminium cladding. On of the issues on the site is the proximity of an electrical substation requiring excavation around high voltage cables and negotiation of party wall awards. SDB is pleased to announce the completion of its first PassivHaus accredited scheme at The Nokes in Hemel Hempstead. This was our first project for Dacorum Council and also our first project for the architects Chambers Goodwin & Partners. It consists of a block of nine flats on three floors plus roof level plant room. It consists of a single skin block work structure covered in insulated render with a top floor plant room.
